Generally Not # 3 is shortlisted for Best Experimental Film and Best Screenplay at Stockholm Gold Film Awards. After being finalist at Rome Prisma Awards and being selected at Flickair Film Festival this year, it’s going for the ultimate.
Transmissions is part of the 2022 ARTSPRING FILMFESTIVAL. It will be a part of the 4th and final Programm of ARTSPRINGNALE. The Screening is set for June 3rd, 2022 @ 9:30 p.m. @ the European Creative Center | kunsthalle, Neumagener Str. 23-25, 13088 Berlin Weissensee.

transmissions [3569-16117-1-through-3569-22115-2] was selected to be shown at the Lift-Off Global Network sessions. The festival will be live on Vimeo On Demand for two weeks: 21 March – 04 April 2022. (1st Round, link will follow)
The first round is open to the general public, who rent the entire collection of films for the full duration of the fortnight. We will be collecting “votes” that will come from our marketing efforts and yours. Everyone must vote for both their favourite, and second favourite film (by writing in the comments section on the Vimeo page).
The winning short will receive an official selection for a live screening at Pinewood Studios next year AND a screening at Raleigh Studios, Hollywood during Los Angeles Lift-Off Film Festival.

Die 14 Filme der „Generally Not” – Reihe sind seit 2016 entstanden. Hintergrund war die Überlegung, dass nicht jeder Film sinnstiftend sein muss. Es ging und geht mehr um die Lust am und auf das bewegte Bild. Die Filme bauen eher auf Assoziationen auf, als einem Handlungsstrang zu verfolgen oder diesen auch nur ansatzweise etablieren zu wollen. Dementsprechend frei wurde mit Bildern bzw. dem Medium Film umgegangen.

Die letzten beiden Filme entstanden als Projektion für die Abschussaustellung eines Stipendienaufenthaltes in Niedersachsen im Frühjahr 2020, wenige Tage vor dem ersten Lockdown.

Generally Not #3 will show at SUBURBINALE in Groß Enzersdorf (a suburb of Vienna).
The „SUBURBINALE“ is the only filmfestival worldwide focusing on international film productions reflecting the challenges and chances of suburban life.

Im Rahmen des Artspring 2019 werden am 24.5.2019 zwei Filme aus der experimentellen Generally Not – Reihe im Lichtblick Kino Berlin gezeigt.
Generally Not #3 lief schon auf mehreren Festivals. Angelehnt an und inspiriert von den Kurzfilmen von David Lynch hat es keine klare Message, sondern spielt mit Assoziationen und Gefühlen, die durch das Zusammenspiel von Bild und Ton erzeugt werden.
Unter den vielen möglichen Lesarten ist diese vielleicht die naheliegendste, jedoch nicht die einzige : „Im Kern kann es als eine Reflexion des Lebens betrachtet werden. 2 Schritte nach vorn, einer zurück … und das ganze zu einem verzerrten, schiefen Soundtrack.“
Generally Not #9 hat PREMIERE und ist gleichzeitig der Abschlußfilm der Filmreihe des Artspring 2019!
Obwohl die unterschiedliche Bilder nichts miteinander zu tun haben, treten sie doch in Verbindung und erzeugen eine seltsame Einheit. Pulsierendes Leben und Zukunftsglaube wird zu einer merkwürdig leeren Angelegenheit und bekommt aus einer matrixartigen, zukünftigen Rückschau ein eigenwillige Bedeutungslosigkeit.
Es entsteht ein bizarrer Raum, der den Betrachter einhüllt, teilweise den Atem nimmt und eine merkwürdige leere erzeugt.
