Schwarze Spiegel

Black Mirror 32

Black Mirror #32

Heute wäre Arno Schmidt 100 Jahre alt geworden.

Today, Arno Schmidt would have had his 100th Birthday. Reason enough to look back on a project, which never made into public: Black Mirrors. Inspired by Arno Schmidt’s book by the same titel, I took a series of 49 pictures – 10 years ago.

Crossing – Open Studio Weekend

[nggallery id=4]

When: May 10th-12th, 2013
Where: the beautiful countryside northeast of Berlin (Oderbruch)
Guest: Marc Haselbach (sculpturing, painting)

It’s open studio weekend in the countryside (Kunst-Loose-Tage). About 30 studios all over Oderbruch will be open. It’s an excellent oportunity to see where all the artists hide and work, as well as to get to know this beautiful part of Brandenburg.

We will show a new version of our joint work “Die Möglichkeit einer Überfahrt”, which we did earlier this year. But there will also be a lot sculptures, paintings, photography and videos to be seen. There will be food and drinks and art and talks.

So don’t hesitate. Get in the car and COME VISIT!

“EASTERN PROMISES” is an international art project of the ongoing exhibition series “Hybrid Object”, which was started by the Serbian-Slovenian sculptor Veljko Zejak in cooperation with various cultural institutions, curators and participants. The self-organized series of artistic events took place in Belgrade, Serbia 2010, Spodnij Hotic, Slovenia 2011, Paris 2011 and now in Berlin to generate a creative artist network of different generations and backgrounds.

The project combines an “Open Studio” week, a “Bio Happening”, a workshop for students, a Pecha Kucha Event, where the participants present their project spaces and positions (Treci Beograd, Belgrade – MOBA Banatska Dubica, Serbia – Container Art Gallery Tallinn, Estonia) and the final exhibition. The artworks are produced on site and approach the topic from different angels: cooperative strategies, improvisation, irony. A Slavic proverb says: “Obecanje ludom radovanje” – Promises make a fool happy.
